Uzma Aziz
Uzma Aziz Irfan—a responsible daughter, nurturing mother, accomplished author, creative writer, and compassionate philanthropist.
As a certified TESL Ontario teacher and creative entrepreneur, Uzma's journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose. Serving as the Executive Director of the Malton Women Council, a grassroots organization, Uzma is a trailblazing community leader who has received numerous prestigious Community Leadership International awards.
Her 12-year career in the social sector spans diverse roles, including Settlement Counsellor, Community Engagement Facilitator, Seniors Project Coordinator, and Community Development Coordinator.
A dedicated volunteer, Uzma was honoured with the 10-Year Ontario Volunteer Service Award and actively contributes to key decision-making tables, such as the Caregiver Advisory Committee (East Toronto Health Partners), TRIEC Mentorship Program, Sheridan College’s Professional Advisory Committee, Peel Committee Against Women Abuse, Family of the Heart, and Green-zone Living.
Uzma’s mantra—“Embrace your past version with pride and respect”—reflects her belief in personal growth and empowerment.
